Venetian Islands Murano, Burano & Torcello

Avoid the “free boat ride” to go on tours if you don’t want to be bundled. DG can organize for you the transfer you deserve. Speed across the beautiful Venetian Lagoon on your very own private motorboat and admire panoramic views of the city from your vantage point on the water. Marvel at the romance of St. Donato Cathedral and watch skilled glassblowers at work on Murano Island.

Our expert guide will take you to one of the most exclusive glassblowing factories - opening by special appointment only – where you can see the expert craftspeople at work and purchase unique glass jewelry and gorgeous decorative objects to embellish your home. In Murano, Adriano’s studio specializes in limited-edition truly contemporary glass work by famous artists such as Riccardo Licata and Kiki Kogelnik. Inspired by Adriano’s exceptional enthusiasm, many artists have accepted the challenge to create contemporary glass sculptures and many of these works are now showcased in important private collections worldwide.

Explore the ancient streets and alleyways with your guide, and delve into the attractive shops and boutiques at your leisure. Hop back aboard your boat and head onward to the island of Burano and admire the island’s picturesque fishing port framed by fuscia pink, deep blue and vibrant yellow houses  that characterize this lovely island town. In this miniature Venice, you’ll find the famous lace – abundant since the 16th century and once considered the most refined in Europe. Enjoy lunch in a restaurant on the canal and perhaps take the time to browse for souvenirs in the local shops. Next, sail over to the island of Torcello and marvel at top highlights such as the 12th-century Church of Santa Fosca and the Venetian-Byzantine mosaics at the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
