Taste of Portofino

I found my love in Portofino
Perché nei sogni credo ancor ♫♫♫

A beautiful scenery and a stunning harbor have turned this elegant port into one of the most alluring destinations on the Italian Riviera. This is one of the most photographed villages along the coast, with a decidedly romantic and affluent aura. Portofino's semi-circular waterfront is lined with pastel-colored houses with frescoed facades and geranium-covered roof terraces and surrounded by pine trees and olive groves. The harbor itself is dotted with a variety of vessels - from little wooden fishing boats to huge yachts with full crews. The cobbled “Piazzetta” in front of the harbor is the best place for eating, drinking or checking out the designer shops on the waterfront. In the morning enjoy a tailor made cooking lesson with your private Chef.

As you already know, Ligurian cuisine is best known for its “Pesto”, but other culinary traditions abound here too!  The day will start with a pleasant walk that leads to the cultivars and a fresh lemonade. Next you will enjoy and Olive Oil and Wine Tasting session together with “bruschetta” served with garden tomatoes, vegetable pies and olives. Now you are ready to learn all about the infamous pesto, from preparing the basil leaves to working with the garlic and using the pestle and mortar. You will then prepare the traditional Ligurian pasta  -  Trofie or Pansotti and enjoy a delicious lunch – dessert included. In the late afternoon tour Portofino with your driver-guide to discover the village’s most enchanting spots and admire a romantic sunset vista from the Brown Castle, a fortress of great visual impact perched on the cliff. Next, hop back in the car and enjoy a scenic drive to Santa Margherita Ligure.

Explore this ancient fishing village, set between beautiful Rapallo and Portofino, and discover the charming fishermen’s houses. Enjoy leisure time to admire the stunning Ligurian coast and marvel at the beautiful Baroque Church of Santa Margherita, that of St. James and the stunning Villa Durazzo.
